Nigerian Airforce Recruitment 2017: Step By Step Guide!

Every year, the Nigerian Airforce conducts recruitment exercises into the Airforce. It involves recruiting able bodied Nigerians into the Airforce service in order to serve Nigeria, their fatherland. This article discusses the recruitment details involved in Nigerian Airforce Recruitment 2017.

Nigerian Airforce Recruitment 2017 Requirements

Below are the important requirements every candidate must take good note of

  • Nationality: The applicant must be a Nigerian citizen
  • Age: The applicant must be between 17 and 22 years of age too if applying for non-tradesman or woman opening, and 17 to 24 years of age if applying for tradesman/ woman opening. If applying as driver, he/she must be between the ages of 18 an 28 years of age.
  • Marital status: Applicant must be single at the time of applying
  • Height: the minimum height for male applicant must be 1.66 meters. The minimum height for female applicants must be 1.63 meters
  • Medical fitness: The applicant must be fit medically and he/she must meet the employment and medical standards of the Nigerian Air Force.

Nigerian Airforce Recruitment Academic qualification

  • Non-tradesmen/women: The applicant must have minimum of 5 O’level credits at maximum of 2 sittings and these must include mathematics and English language. He/she must also present his school testimonial.
  • Tradesmen/women: The applicant must possess minimum of OND, NABTEB, RN/RM or City & Guide certificate. If the candidate is presenting only Trade Test Certificate, he/she must also present O’ level result with minimum of 3 passes in NECO, SSCE or GCE. These 3 credits must include English language.    Also, the candidate must have minimum of lower credit if presenting OND certificate. Any applicant possessing Grade II teacher, University Diplomas, First Degree, Post-Graduate Degree or HND will not be considered for recruitment.
  • Attestation forms: The candidate must present an attestation form that must be signed by a military officer originating from the candidate’s state of origin. The military officer must not be less than the rank of a Squadron leader. It can also be signed by an equivalent officer from the Nigerian Navy or Nigerian Army.  It can also be signed by a police officer not lower than the rank of an Assistant CP. A local government chairman or secretary can also sign it, same for a magistrate or secondary schools principal from the state of origin.

The qualifying tests will be written at different locations in Nigeria and some of them are Makurdi, Ilorin, Lagos, Enugu, Port-Harcourt, Benin, Kaduna, Kano, Maiduguri, Ipetu-Ijesha, Sokoto, Yola, Jos and Bauchi.

Other important information

The applicant is expected to submit the original copies of all documents during the screening exercise.  The following documents will also be submitted, like

  • Two recent passport size photographs stamped and countersigned
  • Photocopies of birth certificate or declaration of age not more than 5 years ago
  • Educational or trade certificates.

Case of impersonation in the Nigerian Airforce Recruitment will not be treated kindly.  The candidate shall be disqualified and can be withdrawn from the training if any false declaration is detected.  The individual may also be handed over to the authorities for prosecution.  The applicant must provide valid information, like telephone number and email address.

Application will be done online at http://www.careers.nigerianairforce.gov.ng. Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification in the Nigerian Airforce Recruitment.  After completing the application process online, the candidate is advised to print all the required documents.
